In India there are many regions and various traditions of the Diwali festival. Diwali begins with Dhanteras. Dhanteras is a day to worship Lakshmi and on Dhanteras people welcomes blessing for the New Year.
The second day is worshipped for Kali. Kali Chaudas day gives inspiration to abolish laziness and evil and pray for the souls of departed loved ones.
